MOST Software Technologies has recently been contracted to upgrade the payroll application systems for a large Payroll Services Provider (PSP) from COBOL v2 to COBOL v6.
This PSP currently processes in excess of 7 billion transactions annually covering over 300 employers coming from a variety of industries. An initial sampling of customer’s COBOL v2 application programs indicated improvements of 30% in performance of COBOL v6.
The project will focus initially on a number of subsystems that will undergo upgrade to COBOL v6. The results of the initial subsystem upgrade
will establish the migration path for all subsequent application upgrades to newer versions of IBM Enterprise COBOL.
