MOST's field-proven methodology focuses on the life cycle and project activities that are predominant to modernization and migration type projects. The methodology is based on a series of progressive and interconnected steps, with integrated project controls and QA procedures contained within the OnTarget Toolkit. These collectively ensure that each project is carried out with minimum-risk, maximum quality and rapid progress.

The methodology is centered on the automation of processes that provide faster, more efficient and accurate results which reduce the risk associated with the otherwise cumbersome, slow, and oftentimes the inaccurate manual processes. The methodology has relevance to the project regardless of the underlying technologies at hand.

The methodology facilitates incorporation of customer input during every step of the process. Additionally, the methodology emphasizes customer collaboration and active participation in evaluating the scope of the project and tailoring optimal strategies that best accommodate the IT and business needs of the customer. Throughout the project, the project teams review the process, resolve exceptions, and maintain checklists to assure high quality execution of the project.
