Upon undertaking an Adabas migration, MOST’s OnTarget technology goes beyond looking only at the Adabas file structures.

In the design of the new RDBMS tables, OnTarget analyzes the inter-dependencies between the Adabas files and Natural application to produce an efficient RDBMS design—based on the actual usage and program processing of Adabas.
 
For example, where Adabas fields may not be in use within the application, or, where information embedded in the logic of the application lends to a more refined and accurate RDBMS column definition, OnTarget orchestrates the design of the target RDBMS tables and columns through analysis of the application.
