MOST - IBM migrate large US Financial Institution off ADABAS/NATURAL platform
Tuesday, December 1, 2009
MOST Technologies Ltd. (MOST) together with IBM has started the migration of a large US financial institution from NATURAL-COBOL/ADABAS to COBOL/DB2.
This move serves primarily as a cost cutting activity and will result in further consolidation and standardization in the IT infrastructure to run the organization’s z/OS mainframe applications. The net result will be a reduction in total cost of ownership for the customer.
In response to the customer’s needs, IBM brought in its business partner, MOST Technologies, specialists in legacy modernization and the migration of NATURAL/ ADABAS to COBOL/DB2. MOST’s conversion toolset is being used to automate the process of DB2 design and the pursuant ADABAS to DB2 data migration and code conversion.
The use of automated tools to drive the migration process will significantly reduce time and effort required to conduct the migration. ”The experience with our conversion toolset has resulted in virtually bug-free code deliveries and as a result less time and effort is spent by the customer on overall project testing and acceptance”, according to Ori Ronen VP of Sales and Marketing for MOST Technologies. “Working with IBM will serve to strengthen our long standing relationship with IBM and enhance our legacy modernization offerings to the IBM customer base.”
MOST Technologies is a provider of automated legacy modernization solutions that transform legacy applications to new, modern, functionally equivalent systems based on mainstream application infrastructure such as DB2, Oracle, Java and COBOL.
