MOST commences Assessment engagement at large US Financial institution
Monday, 4th August 2009
MOST Technologies was contracted to perform a Migration Assessment for a large US Financial Institution as a first step in their plans to migrate their ADABAS/NATURAL-COBOL applications to COBOL/DB2.
“The prime motivator for such a move by the customer is to reduce costs of ongoing operations by consolidating the organization’s application portfolio to conform to corporate IT standards,” said Max Moss VP Business Development for MOST Technologies. OnTarget provides an organization with a cost effective way to move these applications off the Software AG platform and that this will be done with zero disruption to the business. The OnTarget migration process will ensure identical application functionality on the new software platform.
During the Assessment process all applications that are candidates for migration will be analyzed and this includes both ADABAS/NATURAL and ADABAS/COBOL applications.
MOST Technologies will work with the customer to identify those migration entities that are regarded as obsolete in order to ensure that only current application entities will be migrated to the new platform. Additionally the Assessment will determine the implication of breaking the entire migration project into multiple implementation phases.
The duration of the Assessment is 8 weeks and at its completion the customer will have an accurate picture of what it will take to perform the migration process from a cost, resources and time-frame perspective.
